Hello all! I'm a 23 year old student in the Post-Graduate Public Relations program at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. This blog will regularly discuss topics that I'll learn in class, as well as current events that are related to the PR field.
The reason I am studying public relations is that I hope to one day serve the public as an elected official. The skills that I will develop this year will be beneficial as I aim towards a political career.
In my PR Writing class, I recently wrote a mission/vision statement to keep me focused as I seek to obtain my goals; the statement is as follows:
My personal mission/vision statement is to use my skills in writing, public speaking, and decisiveness to obtain a career in public service. I aim to be viewed as a respected professional, and am constantly pursuing opportunities in which I can enhance my education and professional knowledge. By combining my vast array of skills and talents with my core values of faith, family, friends, honesty, and trust; I will constantly strive to be a recognized leader within my workplace and community.
